Mark Weber got his maiden Formula One victory
Mark Webber secured his maiden Formula one victory and Australia’s first since 1981 when he led his Red Bull teammate Sebestian Vettel for a one, two podium finish here at the German grand prix, Nurburgring.
This victory came for Webber’s in his 130th F1 race and after 8 years in the sport, started from his first pole position of his career and overcame a drive through penalty for a first lap collision and went on to a spectacular win at the circuit at the Eifel Mountains. The 32 year old driver from New South Wales came home 9.3 seconds clear of Vettel as he raced to victory that has led the World Championship Wide open. He is now currently third in the drivers’ standings with 45.5 points behind the leader Jenson Buttton. The two Red Bull teammates came ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa who grabbed his first podium finish of the season with Nico Rosberg of Williams coming second. Defending Champion Lewis Hamilton finished 18th and last after a hot headed collision with Webber cost him a puncture. Button battled to finish fifth ahead of teammate Rubens Barrichello as the Brawn Mercides paif faced a late attack from two times World champion Fernando Alonso.

Nadal clinches Barcelona Open
World No 1 and the Spanish favourite Rafael Nadal clinched the Barcelona open for the fifth consecutive time in a row on Sunday by defeating his Spanish compatriot David Ferrrer to clinch the title.

He is also the favourite for a fifth straight Roland Garros crown when the Grand Slam begins in Paris at the end of next month and also he currently holds the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles.
