Michael Owen joins the Red Devils
New Castle United star and ace striker Michael Owen completed his free-transfer move from New Castle United to Manchester United this Friday here in London.
The 29 year old star who was rejected from the English national football team due to fitness tests underwent stringent medical tests before signing a two year contract with the red devils as what is believed to be a pay-as-you-play basis with a basic weekly wage topped by bonuses. The red devils coach Sir Alex Ferguson told that Owen is a world-class forward with a great goal scoring record at the highest level and that’s never been in question.
Michael Owen struggled with injuries and as his form slid down he found himself out of Fabio Capello’s England squad. He also told that the Red Devils approach came as a shock and also told that he just begun to talk with other clubs when Sir Alex Ferguson phoned him and invited him to have breakfast with him and the next morning he wanted Owen to sign in with Manchester United. He also added this was a fantastic opportunity for him to play for a great club and also told that he accepted the deal without a moment thought. He also told that he was looking forward to play for Manchester United and also thanked Sir Alex Ferguson for the faith he had shown on him.
